UBC School of Kinesiology alumna Lyndsay Hayhurst has been awarded a SSHRC-funded Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship for her project entitled “Fighting for Girls: Exploring Girl-focused Self-Defence Programs for Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Uganda and South Africa.”
Since graduating with a the Masters from the UBC School of Kinesiology, Hayhurst has since gone on to successfully undertake both a SSHRC-funded PhD at the University of Toronto and CIHR-funded post-doctoral research at the University of Ottawa.
